Drags and carries are secondary stations and need to be run several times for repetition of learning.

Primary Search: Open Container, little obstruction, search area. Crews should run through the search in crews of 2 or 3 with remaining members watching.

Instructor should point out pitfalls of SAR. Crews should begin to work through problems. Repetition is the key at this point

 

 

Blanket Drags: Crews should demonstrate blanket drags and 1 FF drags. Airpack hand holds etc. Crews should be given a start point 20 to 30 feet from victim and should crawl to victim and then return victim to start point.

This is rough for smaller recruits. A clean area and floor help.

 

 

Extremities Carries: Recruits should run through all the carries and movement up and down stairs.

Recruits should work on stair drags at this point.

Entanglement: crews of 2 or 3

Crews should work through a multitude of entanglements including low clearance, wiring, elevated area,

Crews will play follow the leader through the obstacle area while searching the area around the obstacles. This area can be small with multiple obstacles.

 

4 Station

Large Area Search:

Crews will work at fleet to work through large area searches using hose and rope systems.

Company number crews working through large open spaces and around obstacles looking for 1 object. Ie Halagan Bar, Nozzle, etc
